LO2: Legal and Ethical Report.
For our music video we would need to consider legal and ethical issues for the safety of our audience and the team involved in the creation of the music video. The legal aspects we need to consider are health and safety, consent and other contracts, copyright and ownership. In relation to our music video we had to email the creator of the song we chose to ask for permission to use her song for the video to avoid being sued. Health and safety would cover the cast and crew of the video while filming on location to ensure that all people involved. The consent forms give us permission to film any actors who may be underaged so we don't get sued by giving us their guardians permission for them to be filmed. Music videos are regulated by the bbfc to help parents and children find videos that are appropriate and avoid ones that aren't. The bbfc examines the videos and then classifies any that aren't appropriate for children under 12 with the appropriate bbfc age rating. The kinds of issues the bbfc considers in classifying music videos include bad language, dangerous behaviour presented as safe, drug misuse, sexual behaviour and nudity, and threatening behaviour and violence. Ways this can be fixed are to bleep out any bad language and blur the mouth of any people in the video who might be lip-syncing the words, not include and nudity or sexual content and also not include any drug/alcohol use. Ethical issues need to be considered because of stuart halls encoding and decoding model. This states that peoples upbringing can effect their viewpoints. Due to this we would want the video to be easy fir the audience to understand.
